Role Purpose

The Pastry Commis is responsible of preparing bread items promptlywhile ensuring full adherence to the set quality, hygiene and presentationstandards.

Key Accountabilities
  • Check at the start of his shift that products needed for his servicestation are on hand according to set par level and perform the order of theproducts from the internal store
  • Take part in the opening and closing duties of the pastry incompliance with the norms and internal procedures and contribute in stockingand receiving goods when needed
  • Prepare quality pastry items as per the outlined recipes, the HACCPstandards, the portion control practices, and the items’ presentationguidelines then dispatch prepared orders to the different outlets
  • Ensure sanitation of work station at all times during the shift in bycleaning the fridge, shelves and counter, sharpening knives and cleaningutensils upon end of shift
  • Follow security / fire / safety procedures according to the set rulesand regulations and report any incidents to hierarchy
  • Check the shelf life of products, tag the production/expiry date oneach product, monitor and communicate on wasted product figures
  • Maintain good product/food items knowledge to be able to answer anyinquiries and to provide observations when needed
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge
  • High School Degree, Technical Diploma is a plus
  • 1-2 years of experience in F&B operations in a similar role
